Orhan Gencebay is a revolutionist musician who produces lots of differences in Turkish music and he worked on his own music style with synthesises.
His note information is advanced. Also, he is a genius about intruments and west music styles. Orhan Gencebay has been doing researches to develop Turkish music and to bring it to better shapes and styles.
He has used structures from Spanish, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Chinese, Indian, Turkish Folk, Turkish Classical, African local, Caucasian, Balkan, Arabic, American folk musics and other music styles in his works. However, Orhan Gencebay who brought together all these different structures in his own music style is not respected as he deserves in Turkey.
Gencebay can play lots of instruments, and he can write special notes for each instrument.

His music bases on trials, researches, revolutions, development, experiments, produce and philosophy.
Gencebay is the best virtuoso of the Baglama which is national instrument of Turkey. Baglama has strings and it is an extraordinary instrument which is played with plectrum. Gencebay has compositions more than 1000 (one thousand) and he compposed them with Baglama.
Some jealous and uncultured people said that Gencebay's music is Arabesque. However, this music style is something which composed by singers who wants to imitate Gencebay's music and could not success to do.
Orhan Gencebay was born in Samsun in 4 August 1944. He is a musician who has compositions, baglama solos, film musics, hymns and symphonic works.
Gencebay is and aranger, director, productor, poet, writer, reader, researcher, philosopher, intrument musician, notist, virtuoso, actor and orchestra director.
His music life did not start with his first tape, it started when he was born. When he was a child, he met with Madolin, and got classical west music courses from an old Opera performer who was an barber. While he was learning reading, he was be able to have information about west music harmony, notation and tecniques. Moreover, he could decode music notes. He met with Baglama when he was seven and he engaged with which instruments that he loved like a lover. He agreed a leader Elvis Presley in Rock music, Muharrem Ertaş, Bayram Aracı in folk music, Saadettin Kaynak in Turkish classical music and Abdulvahhab in Arabic music.
After his age of ten, he met with trommel and was interested in Turkish classical music. Also, he engaged with Jazz music and he worked on tenor saxophone.
